Michelangelo's Men: Author's Comments

I know Mike. I know all his little tells – the catch in his breath, the sudden surgeBWE2009 cover of sweat to the skin of his crotch, the ooze of clear lube from the slit of his cock – well enough to be sure that he’s reached the Zone, that he’s no longer conscious of anything but the need to orgasm. That’s when I stop, lifting my open lips from his cock, washing its crown only in my hot wet breath. It twitches with frustration.

‛Not bad,’ says Trent softly. ‛Want something to compare it to?’

Mike swears, helplessly. Then as I stick out my tongue and explore the slit of his glans very delicately he lets his head fall back against the back of the sofa and shuts his eyes. It’s hard to tell whether he’s refusing to respond to the offer or incapable of doing so; either way, Trent takes it for assent.

bulletPlot:  Non-supernatural.  Danielle, who is a bit counterculture, has a naive and very straight boyfriend called Mike but lives with a gay flatmate, Trent, who's an artist.  Dani loves to watch two guys getting it together. She conspires with Trent to draw Mike into a guy-on-guy situation so she can watch her friend "fuck my big straight boyfriend."

Sexual Themes: M/M, voyeurism, body-art and piercings

bulletNotes: There was a time when Black Lace got all scared about printing m/m. It didn't last long, but I wanted to exorcise the bad taste that episode had left in my mouth, so I decided to write a story that's basically about blokes and how hot they are together. Danielle, despite taking part in the threesome, is there primarily as an observer - and to tick the box that says "erotica for women" in what is otherwise a gay story. I made it very explicit (in fact I undoubtedly over-egged it) that she likes watching sex, she likes watching men, and she likes watching gay men together: all things that certain sections of society struggle to wrap their heads around when it comes to women. It's slowly breaking on the public consciousness that lots of women like porn just like men do (we don't need a dressing of romance and we don't need to project ourselves as the woman in the scene) ... but it's a long hard slog. So please forgive me if I'm a bit didactic in this story.

Artists referenced: Michelangelo, Piranesi, Vesalius

I had to do some online research to get the details of Trent's genital piercings correct. I adore tattoos on both men and women, though I've only got one of my own (it's on the small of my back, a position I was amused to find out is labelled the "tramp stamp"). There's absolutely nothing better than tribal tattoos on smooth skin and taut muscle.  I'm not really that excited by piercings, although they certainly can look great on some people. I don't even have pierced ears! But in this case they just seemed essential for Trent.

The flashback scene to the wedding reception in a "northern castle" is set in Durham, UK.

The Black Lace editor said: "I loved the female narrator. You do positively evil minxes so well."  And I thought I was a good girl!
